1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of tutoring services by Distinctive Education ("we", "us", "our").

By enrolling a student with Distinctive Education, parents, guardians, and students agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Admissions

All prospective students must complete the admissions process before joining Distinctive Education.

Following submission of an admissions form, eligible students may receive:

  • A complimentary 2-hour trial session

  • A complimentary Grade 9 Strategy Meeting

Admission to Distinctive Education is not guaranteed and remains at the discretion of Distinctive Education.

3. Fees and Payments

Tuition fees are payable monthly in advance.

Payment instructions will be provided to parents upon enrolment.

Failure to make payment by the due date may result in reminders being issued.

Parents will be given up to fourteen (14) days to rectify any outstanding payment.

Where fees remain unpaid after this period, Distinctive Education reserves the right to suspend tuition services until all outstanding balances have been settled.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Parents must provide a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours' notice if they wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

Where at least 24 hours' notice is provided, lessons may be rescheduled subject to availability.

Where insufficient notice is given, the lesson will be forfeited and no refund or replacement lesson will be provided.

5. Missed Lessons

If a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without the required notice, the lesson will be considered delivered and the session will be forfeited.

No refund, credit, or replacement lesson will be provided for missed lessons.

6. Online Lessons

Online lessons may be conducted through Google Meet or another approved online platform.

Students are responsible for ensuring they have:

  • A stable internet connection

  • Appropriate equipment

  • A suitable learning environment

Where a student's internet connection, equipment, or technical issues prevent participation in a lesson, the lesson will still be counted as delivered and no replacement lesson will be provided.

7. Homework and Independent Study

Students are expected to complete all assigned homework, revision tasks, and independent study activities.

Failure to regularly complete assigned work may impact student progress and results.

Where homework is repeatedly missed, Distinctive Education may contact parents to discuss concerns and agree on an appropriate course of action.

Distinctive Education reserves the right to withdraw tuition services where a student consistently fails to engage with the learning programme.

8. Behaviour Expectations

Students are expected to demonstrate respectful and appropriate behaviour at all times.

Where behaviour falls below expected standards:

  1. Parents may be contacted to discuss concerns.

  2. A second meeting may be arranged if issues continue.

  3. Following two formal behaviour meetings, Distinctive Education reserves the right to terminate tuition services.

Any behaviour that threatens the safety, wellbeing, or learning of others may result in immediate action.

9. Academic Outcomes

Distinctive Education aims to help students achieve their highest academic potential through structured teaching, high standards, and proven learning strategies.

However, Distinctive Education does not guarantee any specific examination result, grade, school placement, or academic outcome.

Student achievement depends on numerous factors including attendance, effort, independent study, attitude, examination performance, and parental support.

10. Reports and Progress Monitoring

Distinctive Education may provide progress updates, assessments, reports, and academic feedback throughout a student's enrolment.

These reports represent professional opinions based on available evidence and should not be interpreted as guarantees of future academic performance.

11. Lesson Recordings

Certain lessons may be recorded for educational, safeguarding, quality assurance, or training purposes.

Where recordings are made, they will be stored securely and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Refund Policy

Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Distinctive Education reserves sole discretion when determining whether a refund will be granted.

Refunds will not normally be provided for:

  • Missed lessons

  • Late cancellations

  • Failure to attend scheduled sessions

  • Technical issues on the student's side

13. Safeguarding

Distinctive Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Parents and students are expected to cooperate with safeguarding procedures where necessary.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Distinctive Education shall not be liable for:

  • Examination outcomes

  • Loss of opportunity

  • Students repeatedly fail to engage with tuition

  • Parents behave abusively or unreasonably towards staff
